Construction to Begin on January 7 - 01/04/13
Construction on the new 24-hour study room and collaboration space is set to begin on January 7 and will take place from 7am - 3pm, Monday-Friday for approximately 90 days. While it is inevitable that there will be some noise and disruption while work is ongoing, we will try and make the process as gentle as possible.
For your convenience, there will be earplugs available at the circulation desk.
24-Hour Study Room and Collaboration Room - 12/19/12
From January 2 - April 15 2013, the current journals area will be closed and converted to a 24/7 study space with group study rooms. Additionally, the study space containing the Index Medicus will be converted into a new collaboration space with video conferencing equipment.
To give you a sense of some of these changes, here are some examples of spaces that the new construction will create:
- A student-only portion of the library that is open 24 hours per day and available only using card-access.
- Several small group study rooms and one collaboration room.
- A print station with an all-in-one networked printer
- A coffee station
The computers have been moved to the Computer Commons.
