Bindery

If Tri-Cat (the Library online catalog) indicates the journal issue you want is in "Bindery Hold" or "Bindery Prep" , contact the Circulation Desk at (212) 746-6050 to fill out a request form. The staff will photocopy the article for you within 24 hours. Items listed as at the bindery (BIND DUE:5/25 for example) are generally returned within two weeks. Provides scientists with a continuously updated insider's guide to the most important papers within any given field of research

We aim to have our items available as much as possible. If you need a copy from an item at the Bindery or Lost or Missing, please complete a TripSaver Interlibrary Loan Request Form online or submit the paper form to the Circulation Desk.


Locate & Hold

If you cannot find an item, even though Tri-Cat indicates the item is available, the Circulation staff will try and track it down for you.

When the item is found, it will be placed on the Hold Shelf. We will then notify you that the item has been found.


Paging

Persons may call the Library Circulation Desk to have someone paged. The person will be called over to the Library's public adddress system and told a phone call is waiting. The phone will be transferred to one of the special paging phones. Telephone: (212) 746-6050


Computers

Macintosh and IBM/PC Computers are available to users. These computers are attached to the college's network and to the Internet. There is a Computer Commons on the main level with Macs and PCs, as well as a computer lab on the Lower Level. The Computer Commons machines print to a laser printer. For Window users, the Macintoshes in the computer lab are equipped with a PC emulating board. Manuals for Library supported software are located on Reserve at the Circulation Desk. Mac and PC computers can now be checked out at the Circulation Desk for use inside the Library.

  • The check out period is three hours (the approximate battery life).
  • The wireless network can be accessed from anywhere in the Library.
  • The laptops offer access to the Internet, Word, Excel, and Powerpoint; they print to the laser printers in the Computer Commons.
  • You may save a file to the 'Public Folder' on the laptop's hard drive. To transfer files to another machine, you can use web-based e-mail to send yourself the files as attachments.
  • The treatment and return of the laptop is your responsibility.
