For further use the reader must again charge out materials in person at the Circulation Desk. Fines must be cleared before materials can be renewed.

RESERVE MATERIALS

Computer software and related materials do not leave the Library.

OVERDUE POLICY

In conjunction with our Tri-Cat Library affiliates at MSK and Rockefeller, the Weill Cornell Medical Library will automatically block the borrowing privileges of any patron who receives a 2nd overdue notice for a delinquent item.

The blocking of library privileges will apply to all three libraries and will be honored by all three libraries. Patrons whose privileges are blocked must resolve the delinquency at the library where the material was borrowed.

Additional fees are charged for 3-hr items that are held overdue. (Overdue Chart)

Overdue notices are a courtesy.

Borrowers are responsible for returning and renewing materials on time whether or not overdue notices reach them.

Policy on Confidentiality of Library Records

Cellular Telephone Use Policy

The Library's designated area for telephone conversations is the Circulation/Reference area at the northern end of the main floor. This includes the area by the windows immediately to one's right upon entering the Library.

Cellular telephones may be left on while in the library. If you have a feature that allows the phone to vibrate rather than ring, the Library requests that this feature be turned on. If you receive a call while in the library, it is your responsibility to proceed to the designated area of the library for telephone conversations. Speak quietly into your cell phone as the receiving person has volume control and your fellow library users are interested in a quiet environment.

New Book Shelf

New books are displayed for 7 days. During that period they may not be checked-out. If you wish to reserve a book from the New Book Shelf, please bring it and your ID to the Circulation Desk. Requests are entered directly into the Library's online system.

The Health Professional Associates Program (HPA)

HPA allows those without access to the Weill Cornell Medical Library to obtain access for a fee. Individual and institutional memberships are available. Pick up literature at the Circulation Desk.
